Serendipity Farmstead is all about healthy food from rich soil and healthy animals. We practice balance – plants can’t grow without animals and animals can’t grow without plants. When done properly, there is no need for chemicals for any reason. We have farmed this way for the past 8 years and our customers can taste the difference!<\/p>\n

We believe that \u201cyou are what you eat, eats\u201d.  So we raise pastured grass fed beef and yak, pastured pork and lamb, pastured chicken and free range eggs.  All our animals are free range supplemented with non GMO grains, allowing them free choice of food and plenty of room for exercise.  Our 27 acre pasture supplies a diverse menu of grasses, legumes and bugs for our critters to enjoy.  We sell direct from our farm store and also inside Two Cows Creamery and Bistro<\/a> in Hot Springs.<\/p>\n

TIBETAN YAKS!<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Yes, we raise yaks. We raise them for breeding stock, meat, fiber and pasture restoration. Unlike cattle which only graze grass, yak will eat weeds, woody plants and even yuccas! The meat is similar to bison, only even more lean. They can be brushed in late spring to capture their very soft, downy undercoat which can be spun like wool into soft yarn. Yaks are also much more efficient in their digestion, consuming less than 50% as much food and water as a similar size cow.<\/p>\n
