About

Serendipity Farmstead is a diverse regenerative homestead farm situated at the southern end of the Black Hills. We raise llamas, yaks, goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs and dairy cows, and have a small orchard and extensive gardens and a greenhouse. We grow as much of our own food as possible, and in a sustainable way that brings us into closer harmony with what we eat. We have taken 27 acres of over-grazed grassland and are turning it into a food oasis that is sustainable and replicable.  We also have a high tunnel that allows us growing 8 months of the year and most exciting is that we just built a tropical greenhouse where can grow citrus and tropical fruits year round. The greenhouse is heated and cooled using thermal energy from the ground with fans and lighting that are powered by a solar array. This summer, a rainwater collection system will be built, thus making this an off-grid, self sustaining greenhouse. Yes, we are really excited about this!

We invite others to visit the farm to see how we are doing things and experience the harmony we have between nature and the animals.  Beginning in summer of 2024, we will offer hands on classes for those that want to experience and learn, and in 2025 we will offer B&B packages for those that want to have a short stay on the farm.
